Bodhi [बोधि] is both the Pāli and Sanskrit word traditionally translated into English as "enlightenment." The word "buddha" means "one who has achieved bodhi." Bodhi is also frequently translated as "awakening."The Buddha [c. 563 BCE-483 BCE] sat under a Bodhi tree observing his breathing when the path to Nirvana was revealed.
